Educational testing provides us with a better understanding of a student's learning profile.  Once the testing process is complete, this information allows us to develop a customized educational plan with specific recommendations for intervention strategies and goals.  We suggest and associate with highly-skilled professionals and specialists to assist with tutoring, skill bolstering, and therapy.
 

Joan Cooper, B.A.,  has over 20 years of teaching experience.  She has taught Reading, English, and French at the Middle School level in the  Howard County School System.   She has a comprehensive background in Orton Gilllingham Multisensory Reading Strategies as well as Nanci Bell's Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension.  While Joan specializes in these strategies, she also provides individual instruction for elementary and middle school students who have weaknesses in Reading, Written Expression, Math, and Study Skills.  She tutors on site in private schools or in her home after school.  Joan also enjoys working with students participating in homeschooling programs.

Beth Harris, M.S., CCC-SLP is a licensed, certified Speech Language Pathologist who has worked in the field for over 20 years. She has extensive experience working in a variety of settings, evaluating and providing therapy to individuals, including children with language based learning disabilities associated with dyslexia.  Beth has additional training in Visualizing and Verbalizing and Fast Forward. Beth also has experience providing study skills for the verbal portion of the SAT examination.

Kerrie Husband, M.Ed. has been working with students both in and out of the public and private classroom for more than a decade.  Her experience ranges from students elementary through high school where she custom designs multi-sensory lessons using programs like Orton Gillingham, Nanci Bell's Visualizing and Verbalizing, Wilson, Phono-Graphix, and Great Leaps!.   Having worked in a private school designed for the needs of dyslexic students, she specializes in meeting the reading, writing and executive function needs of all types of unique learners.  Her home office is conveniently located in Reisterstown, Maryland.

Gail E. Jones, M.S. has over 24 years experience working with students, and has extensive coursework as a Reading Specialist; including an AOGPE-approved Orton-Gillingham course and Nanci Bell’s Visualizing and Verbalizing course in reading comprehension. Gail currently administers admissions testing to applicants to a local school in Baltimore.  As a parent of a dyslexic child, Gail brings understanding and experience in her efforts to help families as they seek to meet the unique needs of their children. Gail is available to tutor children in her Towson home or is willing to travel to meet with children in their homes, schools or mutually convenient locations.

Esther Lichtenberg has worked with hundreds of public and private school students as an independent tutor for the last 12 years.  Recognizing that one size does not fit all, she provides one-to-one, individualized instruction that focuses on teaching to each student’s strengths and needs.  For dyslexic students, she offers specialized remediation, teaching them to read with accuracy, comprehension and fluency.  She is experienced in Orton-Gillingham, Lindamood/Bells’ LIPS, and Visualizing and Verbalizing.  Additionally, she provides effective academic tutoring, grades 1 – 12, Critical Reading, Spelling, Written Expression, Organizational and Study Skills, Math through Pre-Algebra, and SAT Verbal, ISEE Prep, GED Prep.

Sandy Love has been an academic coach for the past eight years.  She received her Orton-Gillingham training, Part ll and Part ll, at the Jemicy School in Baltimore Maryland.  She has been tutoring children in elementary and middle school to assist in reading proficiency, comprehension, spelling, handwriting, organization, and study skills.  She is dedicated to create confidence in children and to help them reach their full potential in a supportive environment.  Sandy coaches students in public, private, and homeschool settings. 

Holly Millman, Organizational/ Executive Function Coach, is a dedicated and experienced educator with a unique and positive approach to helping children and adults improve personally and academically by fostering their Organizational and Executive Function Skills.  After spending many years with a respected educational consulting firm in Baltimore, she now has her own practice in Owings Mills, Maryland, providing one-on-one coaching to students of all ages, as well adults. Personalized results will be reflected through strong motivation, realistic goal setting, improved organization skills, and positive self-esteem. Holly shares her excellent communication and motivational skills, creating a confident and nurturing working environment for both children and families, to successfully learn the tools for managing time, space, materials, and information.

Lavaunda Roundtree, M.Ed. has been educating students with special learning needs for 18 years.  She earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Maryland.  In addition, she has completed coursework in Orton-Gillingham.  Lavaunda currently works in the Anne Arundel School System and spends her after school hours tutoring students so that they can reach academic success.

Deborah Titelman, M.S. has been working in the educational field and meeting the needs of children for over 30 years. She has a B.S. in Education, and an M.S. in Guidance and Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She has taught both in the public and private school settings in Harford County. After receiving her certification in Orton-Gillingham, Debbie worked at a respected Baltimore tutoring practice for five years as an academic and organizational coach. She is now working privately, providing children with the skills they need to reach their full potential.
